Marnie and Dylan’s Wedding

Marnie and Dylan’s wedding was held at Mt Lofty House, which is definitely one of my favourite venues to shoot at. The location is something to marvel at, truly. Stunning architecture, crisp air, and a breathtaking landscape — green, green, green as far as the eye reaches.

Their wedding seemed like it was taken straight from a fairytale. I felt how deep Marnie and Dylan’s love ran in the vows they had made for each other. The ceremony was definitely enhanced by the simplicity of having friends and family partake in the celebrations. Just absolutely magical.

The wedding dress was a true highlight for many of us present during the celebrations, and to have the privilege to capture this in a window light photo was something I am grateful for to this day.

I was also able to capture a special note written by Marnie to her dad. That was a very special moment.

The reception had also been heartwarming. The wedded couple’s families shared their speeches, and I believe this really defined the wedding. Not only was the wedding a union of two people who faithfully and unconditionally loved each other, but it was also a celebration of the closest of family and friends.

And I have to hand it to Marnie! The cake was gorgeous; she has such great taste in design and aesthetics.

Marnie and I studied together for a few years at the Elder Conservatorium of Music doing the Jazz course, so she also asked me to play a couple of tunes for the audience and her dad. It was such an honour!

At the end of the day, in spite of the ever-changing rules of COVID-19, this wedding went ahead as beautiful as it could be.
